Measuring impact sounds complicated
It doesn’t need to be.
I believe evaluation, Theory of Change, and communicating ‘what works’ does not need to be complicated, to be done well.
This is a space for me to simplify it, and make it more accessible.
Everything here is built on three key principles: keep it simple, accessible, and practical.

‘Simplified’ is the goal.
But what is the problem?
The research and evaluation world is filled with academic jargon, over-complication, and frameworks that seem written for ‘specialists’.
You might be under pressure to prove impact and show what’s working in your work. But when you try to figure out how to do that, you’re hit with a ‘language barrier’ and lack of clear guidance that can confuse, demotivate, and knock your confidence.
It’s overwhelming.
I’d like to change that.
The approaches here are informed by how the Higher Education sector provides evidence and measures success in widening participation work.
But this should be accessible to community organisations, volunteering groups, schools/colleges, charities, not-for-profits and other sectors too.
This is a developing idea.
Let me know what you think.
Although this has started as a blog, in future I will be offering training, development, and consultancy in this space.
For now, this is mainly a place for me to share my thoughts, views, and ideas.
I’m trying something new.
